up and down the mountain

We never made it to the top of the mountain. 

Reaching for the top is overrated anyway. I recently read an interview with Elizabeth Gilbert who said: '90% is truly good enough. There is not enough time in life to quest for perfection.' Well, there you go. 

So me and my dog Orangina only made it half way the mountain because that was good enough for us. It was simply too hot. Before going down the mountain, we sat down in the shadow, watched the clouds go by and drank some water in the middle of the purple glow of heather.
